February Foodie Activities

February in Virginia and DC is full of chocolates, wine, spirits, beer, and of course–love. Express your love for the local food and drink scene by checking out some of these events hosted by Virginia businesses.

• Chocolate Lovers Festival – February 1-3 (Fairfax)
  The Chocolate Lovers Festival is an annual two-day festival held on the first full weekend of February, featuring activities for all to enjoy.

• National Tater Tot Day – February 2

• Groundhog Day Party – February 2 (Afton)
  A festive evening celebrating The Groundhog! Stop by for live music, local beer, and special groundhog giveaways at Blue Mountain Brewery.

• Virginia Craft Spirits Roadshow at A. Smith Bowman Distillery – February 2 (Fredericksburg)
  Join the roadshow for samples of artisan spirits as well as craft cocktails from numerous Virginia distilleries, as well as local brews.

• “Ground-Dog” Day Oyster Roast & BBQ – February 2 (Cape Charles)
  All you can eat oysters, smoked BBQ, clam chowder, live music, a ground “hog” ceremony, and a roaring fire pit. It’s a party.

• Quirk Taste – Sparkling and Sweet Event – February 7 (Richmond)

  This 4th Annual festival will have food from all over the world, and family friendly live entertainment.

• Virginia Craft Spirits Roadshow at “The Garden” – February 23 (Alexandria)
  All lovers of local spirits should check out this event. Tickets will include all samples of artisan spirits as well as craft cocktails from numerous Virginia distilleries.

• 9th Annual Barleywine Festival – February 23 (Falls Church)
  Mad Fox Brewing Company will be showcasing 30+ Barleywines from around the region and across the county.

• Winter Beer Festival – February 23 (DC)
  Join Pizzeria Pardiso in celebrating Winter at the fourth part of their Four Seasons Beer Festivals. Expect seasonal drafts, beer slushies, snow cones, popcorn, games, and more.

• Catoctin Creek Cocktail Competition – February 25 (Richmond)
  Six bartenders will go in and only one will come out victorious with two coming in second and third in this battle of the bartenders competition.

• 2019 Virginia Wine Expo – February 26-March 3 (Richmond)
  The 2019 Virginia Wine Expo is a national, six-day destination wine and food event celebrating outstanding global wines and cuisine.
