This Deli Opens with a Line Around the Block

Antonelli’s Deli is officially open in the Museum District! I stopped by during their opening week, and here’s everything you need to know before you go.

When to Go (Hint: Early)

Right now, they open at 11:30 and they’re open until they sell out. And yes, they do sell out. They’re open Wednesday-Saturday, for right now. I got there 10 minutes before they opened and there were already a few people in line. By the time the doors opened at 11:30, there were about 15-20 people in line. So come early or just be prepared to wait for a bit.

The Space

Inside, there are a few small tables and counter seating. There’s also a large patio with umbrellas for shade, which is perfect on a sunny day.

What’s on the Menu

The sandwiches are $13 or $14 and they have a nice variety. They also have specials in the deli case and I’ve seen pizzettes on their Instagram, so you might get lucky depending on when you go!

What I Ordered

I got a caprese-style sandwich made with Hanover tomatoes, plus chips. It actually wasn’t even on the menu. They were out of the Pepp, and they suggested the caprese instead. Honestly, any sandwich built around Hanover tomatoes in peak season is an easy yes for me.

With tax and tip, my sandwich and chips came to $20.83. The sandwich was pretty large and I split it with my husband so I think it’s a pretty good deal. The bread is really good so it takes any of their sandwiches to the next level.

The Details
