The VA Foodie Guide to Non-Alcoholic Drinks

Whether you’re craving a craft mocktail or a locally brewed beer, Virginia has tons of creative non-alcoholic options that rival any cocktail list.

Over the past couple of years, we’ve seen the craft mocktail scene really take off. The options have moved way past soda and onto drinks that are just as creative and inspired as their alcoholic counterparts. Here are a few of our favorite spots to grab a mocktail around the state!

Virginia Beach + Coastal Virginia

Virginia Beach and the Coastal Virginia area are killing it with fresh, colorful mocktails — especially seaside and brunch-friendly spots.

  1. Beachside Social – Classic social spot with crowd-pleasing mocktails and ocean vibes.
  2. Krave – Lounge environment with sophisticated non-alcoholic sips.
  3. Love Song – The mocktail options aren’t extensive, but what they do have are solid, creative options!

Richmond

  1. Blue Atlas– They have a fun mocktail menu, and they typically have a few non-alcoholic wine options, too! (We love their homemade shrub + soda!)
  2. Tazza Kitchen– With a few locations around Richmond, this is a local favorite for drinks, and their non-alcoholic options are thoughtfully crafted. (Try the Centerfold!)
  3. Pinky’s – This Scott’s Addition spot has a variety of fun mocktails, and we love that they’re a little less expensive than the traditional cocktails. Try the Cyprus Cooler!
  4. Point 5 RVA– This non-alcoholic bottle shop has NA wine, beer, and spirits. It’s a great way to stock up your home bar with fun NA options!

Charlottesville

  • Tilman’s Cheese & Wine– Yes it’s a wine bar but they also have a thoughtful selection of craft mocktails to sip on!
  • Maya– Not only do we love their creative mocktails, we also love that most are only $6!
  • Mockingbird– This place has a great selection of mocktails including specials, so you always have a reason to come back. (Try one of their slushies!)

Northern Virginia (NoVA: Arlington / Fairfax / Leesburg / Alexandria)

  1. Founding Farmers (various NoVA/Alexandria locations) – This is an excellent spot for brunch mocktails but really, any time of the day is a good time to visit!
  2. Neutral Ground Bar & Kitchen (McLean) – You can expect fun seasonal mocktails with refined flavor profiles.
  3. Leesburg Public House – While Leesburg is usually thought of as a wine destination (maybe that’s just me?), its other food & beverage scene is great, too! This spot has a full mocktail menu in the heart of historic Leesburg.

Norfolk

This area blends seafood, elevated dining, and thoughtful NA sips.

  1. The Bird – This is a great brunch spot with pleasant mocktails and juices. (And we just love the overall aesthetic.)
  2. Codex– Locals rave about creative mocktails made to order. (FYI, they’re only open for dinner!)
  3. Ceremony – This dry bottle shop is the perfect spot to visit if you want to stock your bar with NA options!

More Non-Alcoholic Options

Craving a beer instead of a mocktail? We also pulled together a list of local non-alcoholic beers! If you’re craving a hoppy flavor, try locally made Hike Hopped Seltzer.
