The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, the largest hunger-relief organization in central and western Virginia, is seeing record demand. With an average of 148,200 guest visits every month—exceeding even the height of the pandemic—the need is critical. And they’re not alone. Food banks across the state are stepping up to meet this rising demand during the winter months when families face increased costs for heating and other essentials.

Volunteer Your Time

Food banks always need helping hands. Whether it’s sorting donations or packing meals, your time is a valuable resource. This is also a great opportunity for families or groups of friends to volunteer together!
