Virginia’s culture of distilling began back in colonial times, adapting old world whiskey recipes to new ingredients. It quickly grew to commercial ventures in George Washington’s times before taking on the robust form of craft distilling we recognize today.
Foodies are in luck because September is packed with foodie events and activities in Virginia. We’re talking food truck battles, oyster roasts, apple harvest festivals, beer benefits, and more unique foodie throwdowns all across the state.
Our foodies come from all types of backgrounds. One of our favorite foodies, full-time hair salon owner and part-time artisanal home cocktail enthusiast, made this killer drink with Virginia moonshine from Belle Isle. It was simple and amazing, so we had to share. Cheers!
