Over the summer, Local Food Hub and 4P Foods finalized a merger of their distribution operations. Local Food Hub is a nonprofit organization that was founded to partner with Virginia farmers to increase community access to local food. 4P Foods is a direct to consumer food hub that connects consumers in the DC metro area with good food from small family farms. This merger marries Local Food Hub’s strengths in farmer relationships and product knowledge with 4P’s strengths in logistics, market development, and sales.

Our incredibly vibrant craft distilling industry reflects not only Old Dominion’s agricultural bounty but also centuries of booze-making: from those colonial geniuses who pioneered corn whiskey to the industrious moonshiners who kept those stills a-humming during the dark days of Prohibition.

Seafood. You either love it or hate it. Y’all can probably guess that we are firmly on the “loving it” side of the fence. Virginia is lucky to have good quality seafood available in most areas of the state, but unless you’ve been living under a rock, you probably know that the Chesapeake Bay (aka the source of all the yummy seafood) is in trouble.
