OTTO: A New Turkish-Mediterranean Restaurant in Manchester

Last Updated on July 28, 2026 by Liz Thomson

Richmond, we have a new spot for Turkish food! OTTO opened on July 13th at 414 Hull St in Manchester, taking over part of the former Hatch Local food hall space in The Current building. (If you miss Hatch, this is a happy ending for at least a chunk of that space, which had been sitting empty since the food hall closed in 2024.)

If the name sounds familiar, it might be because OTTO isn’t brand new. Founders Haldun Turgay and Ali Sevindi started Otto Eats in Charlottesville back in 2020, and they built a following with their storefront near the Downtown Mall, a food truck, and a catering operation that already reached into the Richmond area. Now they’ve made it official with a full location here!

The specialty is döner kebab (meat cooked on a vertical rotisserie, sliced and served over rice with vegetables and sauces), but there’s a lot on the menu for vegetarians too, including house-made falafel, halloumi, and borek rolls. Everything is made fresh daily, and the Richmond location has a full bar with Mediterranean-inspired cocktails.

What We Ordered

Istanbowl – This was my favorite, and I’d definitely order it again. You can get it with chicken, beef, or falafel. We got it with the falafel, which was crispy on the outside but not dry on the inside. (That can be hard to find!) We got it with the Otto boom sauce on top.

Hot Honey Halloumi Pops – These were SO good. Crispy, salty, a little sweet from the hot honey. I’ll be ordering them every single time. It’s hard to find halloumi on a menu so I was thrilled to see it. If you haven’t tried halloumi, it’s a firm, salty cheese that crisps up nicely!

Veggie Borek Rolls – These are stuffed with a lot of mushrooms, which I didn’t realize before ordering, so they weren’t my favorite (I’m not a mushroom person). If you love mushrooms, you’d probably feel differently! They also have a beef version if that’s more your speed.

What Else Is on the Menu

A few other things that caught my eye for next time: the Ottobun Pita, loaded rosemary fries, whipped labneh dip, stuffed dolma, and baklava for dessert. They also have wraps, a Green Harvest Bowl, and a Falaway Pita if you want to go the falafel route.

Good to Know

OTTO is fast-casual, so you order at the counter, and they also do online ordering for pickup and delivery. Parking in Manchester can feel like a gamble, but OTTO offers 2 hours of free parking with validation, which is a nice touch. The Current building is also home to Benchtop Brewing’s taproom, so you could easily make an afternoon of it.

They do catering and private events too, if you’ve got something coming up.
