The first time we spent a weekend in Roanoke, I was surprised at the variety and diversity of the restaurants in the area. From classic American steakhouses like Billy’s to unique international flavors at Taaza Indian Cuisine, Roanoke has a pretty wide range of options.
Mama Jean’s BBQ is more than a restaurant, it’s an experience. My number one tip is to get there early, especially since once a menu item is sold out for the day, that’s it.
Billy’s Roanoke is known for its steak and seafood and offers a classic American dining experience in a historic 1912 building. Billy’s has, as the building says, “Seafood and other great stuff.”
The River and Rail brings a Southern, New-American menu to Roanoke with locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. What sets it apart from other restaurants is its daily changing menu, which features innovative twists on Southern classics.
