Jazz Brunch at The Savory Grain
If you’re looking for a fun brunch spot, then jazz brunch at The Savory Grain in Richmond should be your next stop!
Every Sunday, The Savory Grain hosts a lively jazz brunch—and trust me, it’s worth waking up for. We arrived right at 10 AM when the doors opened (reservations recommended!), grabbed our seats, and quickly ordered a variety of dishes—because who can pick just one?

Here’s what we orderend
- Huevos Rancheros: This hearty dish is served with Spanish rice and black beans and topped with a spicy homemade sauce that packs just the right amount of heat. The portion is generous, making it perfect for sharing or a hearty solo dish.
- Belgian Waffle: This waffle was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. This was technically on the side dish section but it would be plenty for a light brunch.
- Cheesy Grits: Even as self-proclaimed grits skeptics, we were won over by their creamy, well-seasoned deliciousness.
- Home Fries: These were absolute perfection. They were perfectly crispy and well seasoned. Do yourself a favor and order a round for the table. Trust us.

I was honestly not expecting such a fabulous spread of food. This is definitely worth a visit for brunch, even if you’re not trying to catch the live music. I loved that they had a wide variety of options as well.

The Live Music
The jazz music kicked off right around 11. This is helpful to know because if you arrive right at 10am, you might be finished eating before the music starts. So after finishing up our meal, we lingered at the bar over another round of coffee, while we enjoyed the music. Roger Carroll’s Jazz Brunch Duo is typically the weekly act and they’re wonderful. It’s a small venue, so the duo creates the perfect sound without being overwhelming. We loved the variety of music and it made this brunch a really fun date.
This is such a fun spot for a Sunday brunch! I recommend booking a reservation and checking this place out.
