Jane Dough is Now Open in Bellevue

Last Updated on November 7, 2026 by Liz Thomson

On Friday morning, I saw on Instagram that Jane Dough had just opened on MacArthur Avenue, so I grabbed my keys and went right over. By the time I got there, they only had two things left: focaccia and lemon sugar cookies. I got one of each, and I loved both! This isn’t a full review since I only got to try two things, but the focaccia was so good that I couldn’t wait to tell you about it.

Where is Jane Dough?

Jane Dough RVA is at 4029 MacArthur Ave in Bellevue, in the new retail building on MacArthur in Richmond’s Northside. If you know the neighborhood, it’s right on the main stretch with all the restaurants and shops.

The Jane behind Jane Dough is Jane Lukas. She started the business early in the pandemic, turned her garage into a bakery, and spent the last few years doing pop-ups (a lot of them at Celladora Wines in the Fan). Sourdough is her specialty, so it makes sense that the bread is the star.

This was the menu on the day I was there, and it would have been hard to decide what to get!

The focaccia

You guys, this focaccia was incredible. When I sliced it open, it was so fluffy and full of big air bubbles. It was perfectly chewy, too. If you see focaccia in the case when you go, get it. Actually, get two. The flaky sea salt was so good and I can’t wait to try some of her other flavors next time!

Loved this focaccia!!

The lemon sugar cookie

The other thing left was a Funfetti lemon cookie, and I’m so glad it was still there. I’ll admit that I’m not usually a lemon-dessert kind of person but this tasted like a cake batter cookie with just a subtle hint of lemon, not too much at all. This was really tasty and the sprinkles were a nice touch!

Tip: Follow Jane Dough on Instagram!

I have a hunch they’ll be selling out often in these early days, so follow them on Instagram to see what they have available!

Is Jane Dough worth it?

Based on two things, yes! The focaccia alone is worth the trip to Northside, and I’m already planning to go back earlier so I can try more. I’ll update this post when I do. I also love that this is in such a cute part of the Northside, you could grab a treat and take a little stroll around the neighborhood.
