Edwards Ham & Burger’s Smokehouse: A Match Made in Meat Heaven
Hey ham fans! You may have heard that Edwards Smokehouse, a Virginia institution, has merged with another multi-generational meat business Burgers’ Smokehouse. Since we know our foodies are interested in all things ham-related, we thought we should share this message from Edward’s Smokehouse’s National Wholesale Sales Manager and Resident “Hamevangelist” Keith D. Roberts. Long live Virginia Ham!
To our loyal customers and friends,
The news has begun to spread that we have entered an agreement to merge with Burger’s Smokehouse, and the process will be taking place over the coming months. I would like to ease any concerns and let you know that the Edwards Brand will indeed continue, and the high-quality standards you rely on and trust will continue as well.
As you know, since the fire in 2016 that destroyed our original Smokehouses, we’ve been working with friends in the country ham and charcuterie community to produce our products using the same time-honored family recipes and methods that we have used for more than four generations. Rest assured these same recipes and methods will be used moving forward, providing the same great flavor you and your customers know. Our commitment to quality, and most importantly our commitment to you, will always be first and foremost in our minds, and this will always be our goal.
The Burgers Family has been there for us since the beginning of this process, and their reputation in the world of quality country hams is known across the country. With more than 180 years of combined experience, this partnership of our two multi-generation family-owned businesses coming together will only help foster the history and heritage of “The Great American Country Ham”.
